Dr. Giuliana Miguel, Principal and Advisor
Giuliana Miguel is a Peruvian veterinarian who holds an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Edinburgh and a Ph.D. in dairy cattle applied behavior and welfare from the University of Nottingham. She has trained under the supervision of Dr. Anne Marie de Passillé and Dr. Jeff Rushen in the Agri-Food Research Centre in Agassiz-Canada, experts in dairy cattle welfare. Furthermore, Dr. Miguel has worked under the supervision of Dr. Jon Huxley and Dr. Jasmeet Kaler in a large project in dairy cattle lameness resulting in a series of recommendations to improve lameness treatment. Currently, Dr. Miguel is collaborating in several international research projects in production animal welfare in Mexico, Peru, Australia and Malaysia, and as an animal welfare advisor for a local NGO in Mexico. Dr. Miguel has several papers publish in recognized academic journals in the areas of animal welfare and production.
