TriOak Foods hog farms include multiple open-pen gestation facilities and farms compliant with California’s Proposition 12 rule, which would require whole pork sold in the state to come from breeding sows given at least 24 square feet of space.
“With a focus on meeting customer and consumer expectations, this announcement means that JBS USA will continue expanding our premium pork product mix, including open pen gestation and Proposition 12-compliant hogs,” said Marty Dooley, JBS USA Pork president, in a news release. The deal arose out of a long-standing business relationship between JBS and TriOak, a family business founded in 1951. For the past five years, JBS has been the exclusive purchaser of TriOak’s hogs. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions. Original article published on MeatingPlace.com on December 2, 2022 Comments are closed.
